Transition to Redbarn Cat Food
Food Transition Schedule
Mix the new food with your cat’s current food, slowly
increasing the new over 7–10 days (75/25 → 50/50 → 25/75 → all new). If your
cat has a sensitive stomach, take 2 weeks. Measure portions by calories, keep
mealtimes consistent, and watch for vomiting, diarrhea, or refusal to eat—if
these persist, slow down or call your vet.
-
Day 1-2
Start by mixing 10 to 25 percent of Redbarn food in with your current food.
-
Day 3-4
Gradually increase to ½ Redbarn food, ½ current food.
-
Day 5-6
Gradually increase to ¾ Redbarn food, ¼ current food.
-
Day 7
Let your cat enjoy Redbarn food on its own.

Other considerations would include:
- Dry vs. wet (make sure cat is hydrated)
- Existing food fat or fiber
- Follow correct feeding guidelines
- Know your cat, picky eaters could take longer: 2-3 weeks
- Kittens can transition faster
- Multi-cat homes, feed separately and watch stools/appetite for each
